  • How do I arrange a repeat prescription?

    There are strict legislative and ethical considerations that control the dispensation of medications and as such each prescription needs to be reviewed by a veterinarian. To make this a smooth process we ask that you phone the clinic at least 24hrs before you require the medication. If you can’t phone in advance please be aware that there may be an increased waiting time as vets are unable to review prescriptions while in consultations or surgery.

  • When can I book my pet in for surgery?

    Routine and non-urgent surgeries (such as desexings, dentals etc.) are scheduled Monday to Friday. Time is set aside on weekends to perform non-routine, urgent surgeries only. When booking your surgery the receptionist will run through fasting, admission and discharge procedures.

  • My pet is booked for surgery, what do I need to know?

    Please don’t hesitate to phone the clinic if you have any questions specific to you pet’s upcoming surgery. In general, the following advice applies for patients undergoing routine procedures (such as desexing, dentals etc.) and is not meant as a replacement to specific veterinary advice;

    Fasting & preparation– Routine surgical patients are to be fasted overnight. This means feeding a normal sized meal before 8pm and then only offering water overnight. On waking please remove the water bowl. A short walk outside is recommended to allow your pet to toilet before coming into the vet surgery but please avoid any strenuous activity as this can promote dehydration

    Admission– Patients booked for surgery are to be dropped off between 8am-9am (early admission can be organised with pre-arrangement). Please set aside sufficient time at drop off to complete paperwork and ask any questions you may have. Our staff are happy to call you as soon as your pet is in recovery so please let them know if you would like this.

    Discharge- For most routine procedures a day stay at the vet clinic is required and your pet will usually be ready for collection after 3.30pm. In certain situations an overnight stay or appointment with the vet may be made for discharge but this will be discussed with you at or before admission.

  • Do you offer accounts/ credit?

    No. We require payment at the time of consultation (at discharge for hospitalised/ surgical cases). If you anticipate that you will have difficulty affording treatment please discuss this with staff before commencing any treatments. Our staff are more than happy to provide you with estimates of costs and will do their best to offer options within your means. We are able to offer VetPay for those clients who would like an option to pay off a treatment (please phone the clinic for more information).

  • What are your payments options?

    Preferred methods are Eftpos, Cash, Credit Card (Mastercard, Visa).

    VetPay, credit card payment over the phone, pre-payment via direct debit.
